Had John, Nathan and Clay Helvey from Fort Mill, SC and Nevin and Robbie Helvey from Onley, MD today for a 3/4 day charter. We started out to get some spanish - got only 3 and 4 throwbacks and just a few keepers so started to shark fish. We had 6 hookups but ended up with 2
blacktips and both were less than 54 inches so had to be released but Nathan did get a blacknose in the box. They all seemed to enjoythe action and the trip. All boats out today found fishing to be slow and the waters got choppy as the morning went on.

We had a family group from Ohio, NC and Ky - the Rollers today - the spanish bite was decent with 17 keepers but had 29 throwbacks today. Was a decent day and nice people. No boats were getting any sharks to bite and no shrimp boats out so decided not to try sharks today. Group were happy with getting the spanish and had plenty to eat tonight

We had Kirk Whitacre, his 4 yr old son Caleb and Jacob Hook - all from Paw Paw, WV. Kirk has been with us several times before but was a first for son Caleb. We got 8 spanish, 20 throwbacks and one bluefish. Decided to try shark fishing for awhile - we got a couple blacknose which Kirk and Jacob brought in and the last hookup seems like a smaller shark so 4 yr old Caleb brought this one in - it was Atlantic sharknose so we were able to keep it. Caleb did a great job of fishing and stayed fishing and watching the lines most of the trip. A fun day and great people. Kirk has been kind enough to send us alot of people from the Paw Paw, WV area when they come to Holden Beach area for vacation.

Had Tim Baumauer and his 7 yr old son, Jack from Charlotte, NC for a short 1/4 day charter - Tim wanted to see how Jack would do since this was his first deepsea fishing trip. Jack got plenty of action today - he brought in 19 spanish and had 15 throwbacks - he even let dad bring in a couple spanish when 2-3 lines went off at same time. A really nice day and calm, clear waters. Was great to see Jack so excited about fishing and watching the lines at all times.

Had two short charters today - we had a group from Pittsburg, Pa and Lexington, Ky on the morning trip and fishing was slow (was unable to go yesterday, Wed due to strong winds) had really muddy water and very hot and only got a few spanish. On the afternoon trip had Kathy, Danny and Chase Gaines from Bear Creek, NC and again the afternoon proved slow fishing . However did get a few spanish keepers and enjoyed the fellowship with these nice people. They had brought us fresh tomatoes and canteloupe from their garden which we sure enjoyed.

Had another great day of fishing - had a group from Nebraska, Iowa and California that were here for a family get together. We got 40 spanish and they decided they had plenty to eat and wanted to start shark fishing - we got 4 nice size sharks in the boat for pictures but could only keep one due to our limit so had to release rest of them but party had lots of fun and plenty of fish to take home

We had four boys from Lexington, SC - Cody Roberts, Charlie Wynne, Nick Roberts and Justin Tuttle - had a Great Fishing Day - we got our limit of 90 spanish and then start shark fishing and ended up with our limit on sharks also. Know all their family will enjoy eating all the fish and the boys will have lots of stories to tell of their shark hook-up. Really nice guys and a fun day!

Had the Mahoney family from Vienna, WV today. We started out with spanish and ended up with 14 and only 2 throwbacks then the rains started and we ask if they wanted to go in and just have a short day but they decided they wanted to stay out and shark fish. We had plenty of action with the sharks but got 2 silky both too short - only 52 inches and several lost on way to boat and some other sharks to small to keep but had 9 hook ups so a fun day and they had enough to eat tonight

Took Drew Elder and son Hunter from Bia Island, Va on a 1/2 day charter. Had rescheduled from Monday due to strong winds. We got several spanish mackerel but equal amount of throw backs and then last hour tried sharks. We got 6 different bites but ended up with only one keeper - a blacknose - right before we went in. A fun trip and enjoyed so much watching a young boy like Hunter stay alert and watched lines throughout the trip.
